Award-winning artist and University of South Australia adjunct Dr Sam Leach is our artist in residence during MOD.IFY.

Sam was the 2010 winner of both the Archibald Prize and the Wynne Prize at the Art Gallery of NSW, and has exhibited extensively in Australia and overseas.

Sam has been interested for some time in the historical and cultural influence science has on art, and what it can teach us about the relationships between humans and animals. Sam worked with Professor Mandyam (Srini) Srinivasan (University of Queensland) on the Birds and Bees exhibit, housed in our Futures Gallery for MOD.IFY.

During the six-week residency in June and July, Sam will be working out of MOD. Studio B, Level 1 creating work responding to the themes of the exhibition.

His studio will be open Friday nights from 5pm during the month of July. Be sure to come and have a chat with Sam and see him at work. No need to register, just drop in!
