WORK EXPERIENCE 2025

In 2025 MOD. welcomed 8 students from a diverse range of high schools across Adelaide and regional South Australia for a week’s work experience placement.

These year 10 and 11 students joined the MOD. team in a variety of activities including – exhibition design workshops, user testing, vendor progress meetings and engaging with visitors while shadowing our amazing Moderators on the floor.

One student recently shared with us their reflections on their time at MOD.

I had the opportunity of undertaking Work Experience here at MOD from the 30th of June to the 4th of July in 2025.

As a student from a country school, I don’t often get the chance to have such an experience, and I’m extremely grateful for the MOD team to allow me to have a placement here.

Everyday was incredibly enjoyable, and I learnt so much about myself and MOD, and I have developed so many new skills valuable in life thanks to this opportunity.

Ranging from sitting in on meetings, hanging up posters, contributing to future exhibitions, working with new people and even helping to set up galleries, every aspect of MOD has made me feel welcomed and was incredibly entertaining and interesting.

From previous Work Experience opportunities, I was the only student undertaking it at that time, but here at MOD, I worked with four others and made new friends. As someone who is highly independent, working with the other students was enjoyable and I definitely gained lots of social skills from it.

MOD itself had a nice, chill and relaxing environment, there were spots to relax back in if everything got too much, the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming and it’s an amazing experience to have.

Overall, this opportunity to undertake this placement was amazing and I’d recommend it to anyone. On one last note, I’d like to thank MOD for giving me such an opportunity, it was an incredible experience:)

We loved having the students and providing opportunities for them to develop experiences and envision what their future careers could be like.
