Warm Up in City West

The cold is sweeping along the Adelaide streets and everyone is looking for somewhere cozy to be.

The West End in the Adelaide CBD is one of our favourite areas to be; with some of the best cafés, shops and cultural businesses, there’s always something to discover.

If you have an afternoon to explore the city, we have three spots that must be on your list (and a few extras!).

My Dead Grandpa

Tucked just off from Light Square, My Dead Grandpa is a marketplace full of vintage clothes, trinkets, physical media and more. This 900 square metre building features over 50 vendors all in one place so you can travel back in time and awaken your nostalgia. Amongst the shelves and different areas, discover quality woollen jumpers, merch from old TV shows and furniture with personality.

Pop in Tues – Sat, 9am – 5pm and Sun, 11am – 5pm

Imprints Booksellers

A short walk away from My Dead Grandpa is one of the cosiest shops in Adelaide, Imprints Booksellers. Located in a beautiful heritage shopfront, this book store is just like those in picture books and Hollywood movies. Wood shelves reach up and across each wall with no section or genre missed out. Ponder each shelf or ask the friendly staff for their recommendations.

Open Mon – Sat, 10am – 5:30pm

MOD. shop + café

After spending your afternoon on your feet, you’ll most likely be looking for a place to put them up. In MOD.’s foyer is our café, offering local Adelaide roasters, Artisan’s Blend coffee freshly brewed by our expert baristas. If you are feeling peckish, our regulars can never go without a slice of banana bread or a spotty cookie (why not try both?). Nestle into a booth, let the afternoon drift by until your curiosity pulls you to explore the free exhibition just across from you.

Open Tues – Sat, 10am – 5pm
